Police phone rings endlessly

A Rabie Ridge resident wrote:

For the past two months I have been trying to call Rabie Ridge Police Station, with no success. I had an incident over the weekend and I tried to call the police over 10 times. Eventually I went to the police station to get assistance. When asked by the officer why I was only reporting the incident so late, I told him that I called. He then tried to call the station’s phone and did not get through. The officer said I cannot blame them, but I must report it to Telkom. My question is what about the serious problems? There are a lot of break-ins happening where they break into the house while the people are sleeping. I know about five cases just the past week in Rabie Ridge. How can we feel safe when the police are so carefree?

Midrand Reporter called Rabie Ridge Police Station landline 011 310 0410 on 4 and 5 December, but the phone rang endlessly. Rabie Ridge police spokesperson Constable Jacob Nhlongo said all phones are working and that residents should also use 011 310 0420.
