Beaulieu Prep proud of learner’s achievement at the Victoria K. Bennett Music Competition

The rigorous programme ensures an extremely high standard of excellence and competition for solo performers of national status.

Two learners from Beaulieu Preparatory School have recently made their school proud by achieving gold accolades in the annual Victoria K. Bennett Music Competition.

The competition took place from May 30 to August 19 over three rounds and was adjudicated by six renowned music professors and conductors from around South Africa.

Connor Liu and Sienna Liu both participated in the competition. Connor won the A category for eight to 10-year-olds.

Connor Liu wins gold for his piano recital.

He received gold for piano in the first round and went on to win in the final.

Sienna received gold for piano and a high distinction for flute in the first round of Category A.

She made it to the semi-finals and was placed in the top five in her category.

This prestigious event is currently the only one of its kind in South Africa, offering a unique opportunity for soloists aged eight to 25 to compete against their peers in classical music from all across the nation.
