Cedarwood School learners enjoy Sawubona Shakespeare production
The show was an exciting take on Shakespeare.
Ticket to the Moon Youth Theatre Company presented Sawubona Shakespeare to Cedarwood School learners.
This inventive take on Shakespeare’s classic works took place on February 28. Grade 10 learner, Milah Karmer said the production was essential as it helped them gain not only in language and content but also in social skills, critical thinking and planning, communication, cultural knowledge, and evaluation.
“I thoroughly enjoyed Sawubona Shakespeare. I found it intellectual and relatable as they used modern-day terms and vocabulary which helped us understand,” said Milah.
Drama teacher at the school Ben Pienaar said, “As learners study Shakespeare until Grade 12, this production had an educational as well as entertainment value which our learners enjoyed.”
