After a challenging two-year hiatus, local musician Sicelo Ngwenya released a new single track titled, Ngiyak’dinga [yearning].
The track is a collaborative effort with producers Kitie150 and Frank Mabeat, and will be followed by a music video at a later stage.
S’Villa as Ngwenya is affectionately known said this is the first single released under his own record label, Villa Music Group on April 19.
He said it was not his intention to take the break, but due to contractual battles with his previous record label, he had to pause a bit and focus on that battle.

He is best known for delivering the chart-topping hit song Jehova, which was nominated for Best Music Video at the SAMA 29 and has garnered more than 30 million views on YouTube to date.
He said during his time away, he was fortunate to collaborate with 3-time Grammy-winning Jamaican Reggae band, Morgan Heritage on a track titled You Got To (See the World), which quickly gained immense popularity. Their collaboration garnered a staggering one million views on YouTube within its first day of release and went on to be considered for a Grammy award for Best Global Music Performance, showcasing S’Villa’s enduring appeal and talent.
“This is the highlight of my music career because these guys are big in the music fraternity. I am excited about collaborating with the band and its a big deal to me. I am also happy about my latest single, which was released under my own record label, that is a big deal to me,” said S’Villa.

He said he commits to at least release a new single every six weeks or so, and possibly an album around December to kick-start the festive atmosphere.
