Local young model is Miss Youth Unified International 2023 Finalist

Although the 24-year-old has won many modeling accolades, she believes that bagging Youth Unified International will enable her to reach and inspire a lot more women and young people.

“At first I felt like I was constantly worrying about the next part of my life without realising that I am right in the middle of what I used to pray for — an international pageant.”

A young and energetic model from Ivory Park, Caroline Mangane, said these words as she prepares to strut around the runway at Miss Youth Unified International 2023.

To name a few, Mangane has already been crowned Miss Maboneng Public Choice Queen 2022, Miss Waterfall South Africa, Miss Friendship 2022, and Miss Excellency Queen South Africa 2021.

Although the 24-year-old has won many modelling accolades, she believes that as a finalist, bagging Youth Unified International will enable her to reach and inspire a lot more women and young people than she can with the platform.

“Miss Youth Unified International is so much more than a pageant. I did a little digging. I looked at the values, and the past models interviewed and I found such a synergy between Miss Youth Unified International’s vision and my own,” she explained.

“The time has come for me to reclaim, reimagine, and redefine my own life trajectory. After being Sashed with the Miss Youth Unified International 2023 Finalist, I realised that a sash is used as the emblem of an honorary order. It is not worn by just anyone as it carries so much weight and comes with many responsibilities. It is an honor to wear a sash.”

It was her parents’ support that shaped her into the ambitious person she is today.

“I have been inspired by my parents throughout my life. They are the only ones in the world who have always supported and motivated me to achieve my goals. Through thick and thin my parents have walked with me shoulder to shoulder. As a result, they taught me to see my dreams and inspired me to strive for success.”

The Jeppe College commerce and computer student said confidence is one of the characteristics of a successful model.

“You definitely require confidence to shine on the runway. If you are confident you can pull off anything even if you don’t have a clue about what you are doing. So believe in yourself, follow your dreams, have goals in life, and always surround yourself with people who make you happy.”

Her goal is to motivate and inspire youth and models both locally and internationally to become great leaders, regardless of their background, so that they can make a positive impact on their communities.
