Cedarwood School community gets a visit from therapy and detective dogs

Learners and teachers were given a chance to interact with the dogs and watch their different responses to them.

CAP Security K9 operator, Zameer Husain, CAP Security K9 recently visited Cedarwood Preparatory School for a therapy and safety presentation with Storm (therapy dog) and Xtra (detective dog).Husain explained the role of the talented and perceptive Storm. Learners and teachers were given a chance to interact with the animal and watch her different responses to them.

Storm has magnificent capabilities to smell and sense various human emotions with procedures to show love and affection in assisting the process of balancing human emotions.

Being a detective dog, Xtra displayed the strength and agility required for his selfless protection services and is trained to detect explosives.

The school’s Suvarna Juggath of learning support said the presentation from the K9 unit was extremely beneficial for Cedarwood School in understanding the various roles ‘our furry friends take on’.

“Storm’s high emotional intelligence was evident as she interacted with learners and staff who all displayed different emotions. Storm acted in accordance with non-threatening and loving mannerisms,” concluded Juggath.
