New Jerusalem Children’s Home ends year with lots of victories

Among the highlights of 2022 for the home are its first two children enrolling at universities this year.

Despite the loss of its co-founder Phina Mojapelo earlier this year, New Jerusalem Children’s Home ended the year with some exciting highlights.

Co-founder Anna Difo-Mojapelo says this year started with many challenges but ended with a lot of victories.

Among the highlights of 2022 for the home are its first two children enrolling at universities this year — one at University of Free State studying Business Administration, and one at Varsity College studying Teaching, and “both of them are doing exceptionally well,” said Difo-Mojapelo.

As well as Jacaranda Fm Morning Angels and Kaomi Marketing donating money to the home, and the home’s annual general meeting which took place on October 15 with the theme ‘honouring the legends’.

Additionally, Dr. Palesa Phalafala, one of the home’s board members, got a scholarship to Singapore to represent African doctors. It is Phalafala’s hope that the children of the home will one day follow in her footsteps.

Difo-Mojapelo thanks donors, the home’s board members, Hilti SA, Jacaranda FM, Bowmans Lawyer, and other stakeholders for helping the home restore its footing after being affected by the Covid-19.

“For 2023, we are looking forward to this year’s Grade 12’s starting with universities, more donors coming to donate at the home, and more victories.”
