The corner of Berger and Le-Roux streets was filled with running water from the burst pipe.

She further stressed that several residents in the area had already experienced water shortages due to the burst pipe, and Joburg Water needed to attend to the issue urgently.

“hundreds of litres of water had already flooded the surrounding streets, including Berger and Le Roux Street. The water could have caused further damage to the road if the issue was not resolved quickly.

Joburg Water spokesperson, Nombuso Shabalala confirmed that the entity repaired the burst pipe at Le Roux and Berger streets and completed the job at midnight on October 29.

“Backfilling and reinstatement will be completed once the rainy weather passes,” concluded Shabalala.
