Many drunk drivers and marijuana users were also caught during the team's patrol.

The high-visibility joint operation by Midrand Sector 2 law enforcement continued on September 1.

The day was action filled for the Sector 2 team as they first intercepted a wanted vehicle with the assistance of Fidelity ADT and ARN security.

During the high-speed chase, the taxi driver threw a gun out the window and the team proceeded to chase down the taxi and apprehend the driver while freeing a female occupant who alleged that she was taken under threat by the taxi driver.

Drunk drivers and marijuana users were caught during the Midrand Sector 2 operation.

A set of false number plates was also found in the taxi. The taxi and the driver have been booked in by the Midrand police.

The team also came across many drunk drivers and others with marijuana.

Midrand police spokesperson Constable Eliot Mabulane commended the team for continuing with this joint operation to maintain the safety of Midrand.
