New Dawn Senior Citizen enjoy breakfast on Mandela Day

New Dawn Senior Citizen Club executive members urged their members to take away a renewed sense of purpose and inspiration to make a positive impact in their respective communities.

Midrand’s New Dawn Senior Citizens Club (NDSC) members celebrated Mandela Day in style when they enjoyed the most important meal of the day – breakfast.
The free meals were served at Carlswald’s Minnetonka Spur on July 18.

“Thank you so much to manager, Sibusiso [Khoza] for organising this special outing to celebrate Mandela Day,” said a collective message from the executive members of the NDSC, treasurer Joyce Moodley, PRO Shemila Nandalal and committee member Rita Harripersad.

Mandela Day honours the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela, a champion of equality, justice, and human rights.
“It’s a day to reflect on his selfless contributions to society and inspire others to follow in his footsteps. This event aligns perfectly with our seniors club’s mission and values, which emphasise community service, social connection, and personal growth. By coming together today, we’re not only honouring Mandela’s legacy but also fostering a sense of belonging and compassion among our members,” said the executives.

Spur manager Ouma Sebothoma said staff and management gave back to the seniors in true Madiba fashion.
“We are proud and privileged to be part of Mandela Day by providing warm and fulfilling breakfast to our most import members of the community – senior citizens,” said Sebothoma,

Ther club celebrated its fifth anniversary on June 30.
