Gijima celebrates Mandela Day by inspiring the next generation of cybersecurity leaders

Gijima’s Mandela Day had made a lasting impression on learners.

Midrand-based information technology company, Gijima, took a significant step towards shaping the future of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry by hosting a remarkable cybersecurity day in honor of Mandela Day.

This event, on July 18, brought together learners from three local schools – Midrand High, Noordwyk Secondary, and Maphutha Secondary – creating an inspiring and educational experience that opened their eyes to the vast opportunities within the cybersecurity field.

The day was filled with excitement and curiosity as learners eagerly participated in interactive sessions designed to educate and inspire them. For 67 impactful minutes, learners explored the various avenues within cybersecurity that extend far beyond what they initially perceived.

Many learners left with a newfound understanding, and appreciation, for the complexities of cybersecurity – recognising that it is not just about hacking and coding but also about strategy, ethics, and perseverance.
