Still no repairs for Rabie Ridge Stadium wall

Rabie Ridge Stadium wall still not repaired.

The Rabie Ridge Stadium wall, essential for the community, has been in disrepair since late last year, with Johannesburg City yet to address it.

Despite a series of concerted efforts to bring attention to the pressing need for repairs, the heartfelt appeals from the community members and the Rabie Ridge Resident Association have seemingly fallen on deaf ears within the corridors of the city.

Questions were raised regarding the city’s stance and commitment towards expeditiously addressing this pressing issue.

However, on June 25, the city expressed the need for additional time to craft a comprehensive response.

Since then, despite subsequent attempts to solicit a clear and definitive timeline regarding the much-needed repairs, the city has not responded.

The unwavering efforts of Charles Jones, the chairperson of the association, in his persistent pursuit to catalyse concrete action, have seen him previously proactively engaging with the Region A Sport and Recreation department in a bid to escalate the matter, and highlight the urgency of the repairs required.
