Newly formed organisation Give Hope Charity Organisation gives the unprivileged hope

Approximately 120 individuals benefit from the services, and with new members joining regularly the organisation continues to seek donors and partnerships.

Local philanthropist Vuyelwa Olgah Altronicah Senyane established the Give Hope Charity Organisation last year, to support underprivileged individuals in the Midrand, Ivory Park, Tembisa, and surrounding communities.
Through its soup kitchen and various initiatives, the organisation aims to combat issues such as food scarcity, poverty, and gender-based violence (GBV). Creating a safe space for GBV victims to speak out and receive support is a vital aspect of their mission.
“The organisation’s members, who are also part of the community, identify and select beneficiaries based on their household background. We work closely with youth volunteers who help identify the most underprivileged families and households,” said Senyane.

Local elderly residents receive nutritious food from the Give Hope Charity Organisation.

“We provide nutritional food, including vegetables, fruits, and carbohydrates, as well as second-hand clothes to those in need. Our distribution days are every Tuesday and Thursday.”

The organisation has forged partnerships with various entities such as Soul Food, CK Foundation Food Bank, and Ebony Pick n Pay to ensure the success of its initiatives.

About 120 individuals benefit from the services and with more people needing help, the organisations continues to seek donors and partnerships.

“We have also established a vegetable garden to supplement our food supply. We also carefully check the expiry dates and nutritional value of donated food items. We also plan to expand our services to the Meyerton community and eventually assist communities nationwide. Our goal is to make our soup kitchen a daily initiative.
“We still encounter issues with latecomers and schoolchildren prioritising our soup kitchen over their education. However, we are addressing these challenges by encouraging punctuality and promoting education.”

Give Hope measures the impact and success of its programmes through a combination of quantitative and qualitative metrics.

Local philanthropist and founder of Give Hope Charity Organisation Vuyelwa Olgah Altronicah Senyane.

“We track the number of beneficiaries served, including children, elders, and youth, as well as the amount of food and clothes distributed. We also monitor the number of workshops and programmes conducted and collect feedback and testimonials from our beneficiaries and partners. This helps us understand the effectiveness of our services and identify areas for improvement.”

Senyane expressed gratitude to partners, volunteers, and donors for supporting their mission of providing hope and support to those in need.
