Travis Shiers, a student leader at Midrand Montessori High, has been making waves in the world of enduro endurance motorcycle racing.

His recent achievement of becoming the champion of the EWXC Enduro has solidified his reputation as a rising star in the sport.

Travis’s journey to the top of the podium at the Blue Groove in Harties on June 1 was nothing short of remarkable.

Throughout the gruelling EWXC enduro race season, he has demonstrated exceptional resilience and skill, navigating challenging terrains and overcoming unexpected obstacles with finesse.

His ability to tackle demanding courses, endure long rides in harsh weather conditions, and face tough competition head-on set him apart as a true contender in the sport. His unwavering determination and unwavering focus were evident in every race he competed in.

As the final race approached with Travis holding a slim two-point lead over his closest rival, the pressure was on. However, with intensive training and mental preparation, Travis rose to the occasion.

Starting in second place, he quickly surged ahead in the second lap and maintained his lead until the finish line, clinching the title of EWXC champion.

His triumph adds to his earlier successes at the EWXC Mhara and EWXC Heidelberg races, where he secured podium finishes. His consistent performance and dedication to the sport have not gone unnoticed by his school and peers.

Sian Jackson-Morkel, the principal of Montessori High, expressed immense pride in Travis’ achievements.
