As the winter season is in full swing, the Midrand-based NPO urges community members and business people to donate blankets ahead of the winter drive which will be held on June 30 at a venue yet to be announced.

Connect to Feed founder Upama Srivastava said during this season, the need for warm clothing and blankets became critical for many individuals from underprivileged communities. “We are currently organising a blanket drive to ensure that as many people as possible have access to this basic necessity. We have successfully collected funds for 100 blankets, each costing R70. However, to meet our goal of distributing 300 blankets, we need to raise funds for an additional 200 blankets,” said Srivastava.

She said the generous support and donations would go a long way in making a significant difference to those in need of warmth.
Srivastsava said a contribution of any amount would help them reach their target and ensure that more people could stay warm this winter.

“Let’s come together, extend our warmth, and make a difference this winter by providing much-needed blankets. Your generosity can bring comfort to those who need it the most.

The drive is held under three hashtags, #BlanketDrive #WinterWarmth #CommunitySupport, added Srivastava.
