FootGolf South Africa debutes in the FootGolf Masters in France.

Excitement fills the air as FootGolf South Africa (FGSA) proudly announces its debut at the esteemed FootGolf Masters tournament scheduled to be held in France from June 20–23 at the Golf Parc Robert Hersant.

The team comprises three exceptional players, carefully selected after a rigorous national tour during the previous footgolf season.

Team South Africa boasts a stellar lineup of talent, with Mpho Mbele competing in the men’s category, Kefilwe Mphake representing in the women’s category, and Thomas Samons showcasing his skills in the senior men’s division at the FootGolf French Open Masters.

This trio embarked on their journey from the OR Tambo International Airport on June 18, filled with determination and pride to fly their nation’s flag high on the global stage.

Norman Mphake, the president of FGSA said, this momentous occasion marks a pivotal turning point for footgolf in South Africa, signifying the nation’s integration into the esteemed global footgolf community through participation in this prestigious competition.

As the national governing body for footgolf in South Africa, FGSA, based in Midrand, is dedicated to fostering and expanding the sport throughout the country.

Norman also expressed pride in South Africa becoming the first African country to partake in the FootGolf Masters.

The tournament promises to be a landmark event, showcasing the best of footgolf on one of France’s most picturesque golf courses — Tiger Woods and Michel Platini.

“We are thrilled to represent South Africa on the global footgolf stage. Our team has worked tirelessly to prepare, and we are confident that they will make our country proud,” said Norman.

“This participation marks a significant milestone on our journey to grow footgolf in South Africa and inspire a new generation of players.”

As the trio takes on the challenge in the heart of France, they carry with them the hopes and dreams of a nation, poised to leave an indelible mark on the sport’s global stage.
