In a recent college competition at The IIE’s Varsity College Waterfall, Lesedi Moloantoa, a diligent fourth-year Bachelor of Laws student clinched the second prize with her captivating 60-second video.

Despite the absence of professional aid, Lesedi’s cellphone-captured creation beautifully portrayed her transformative voyage through the college, earning her a well-deserved Takealot voucher worth R4 000 as part of the MyTime competition.

Lesedi’s video encapsulated her evolution from a first-year student to a confident, engaged college community member.

“The video I created showcased my experience at The IIE’s Varsity College Waterfall campus as a student from my first year to my final, my fourth year,” she explained.

The narrative unfolds seamlessly, illustrating the myriad opportunities for personal development that the campus affords to its students.

Reflecting on her initial introversion, Lesedi shared how her decision to immerse herself in campus life bore fruit.

“I was a very introverted person coming from high school, and when I joined The IIE’s Varsity College Waterfall, I saw an opportunity to be a part of the Social Committee which allowed me to grow into a bit of a social butterfly.

“I also joined the campus netball team, started a choir on campus, and even worked as a registration officer – all of which was a wonderful part of my journey.”

Lesedi’s triumph in the competition is a testament to her unwavering dedication and the profound influence The IIE’s Varsity College Waterfall has had on her personal and academic growth.

“It will serve as a reminder that putting myself out there, pushing myself, and showing up prepared while living in the moment are factors that can co-exist.”
