12 motorists napped for driving at excessive speeds in Midrand

JMPD nabbed 12 motorists for excessive speeds.

JMPD’s high-speed unit arrested 12 motorists in Midrand for driving over the limit.
The operation was conducted on Allandale Road near Mushroom Road in Waterfall.

According to JMPD spokesperson Superintendent Xolani Fihla, one of the suspects was a female motorist who was driving a silver Honda at an alarming speed of 134km/h in an 80km/h zone.

“The arrested motorists were detained at Midrand Police Station, where they will face appropriate charges for their reckless behaviour on the road,” said Fihla.

“The safety of the community is of utmost importance, and JMPD will not tolerate individuals who put others at risk through their irresponsible actions.
“This serves as a warning to those who choose to disregard the rules of the road – there will be consequences for your actions.”

The publication made several attempts to contact the District police spokesperson, Captain Jeff Phora, for a comment on the arrests.
Phora had not responded by the time of going to print.
