New Jerusalem Children’s Home needs your assistance

The home is in short of important food items, including maize meal, rice, sugar, and chicken.

The President Park-based children’s home is appealing to the public to come to their rescue.

The manager of the New Jerusalem Children’s Home, Hopkins Kaira says they are currently short of groceries and cleaning materials.

He said the problem was so dire that their 127 children only survived on pap and vegetables without any form of protein in their daily food consumption.

“The situation is so bad here. We kindly request help from members of the public to assist us with our urgent needs. We would appreciate it if the groceries and the cleaning material could be provided for the children,” requested Kaira.

In their 17th AGM held at Gallagher Convention Centre, the home treasurer Benjamin Beza reported a deficit/ loss of R239 770, and appealed to the corporate world, churches, and individuals to kindly assist the home.

The home is short of various food items, including maize meal, rice, sugar, tin fish, chicken, and beef. The cleaning material includes pine gel, washing powder, dishwashing liquid, and soap.
