Crime Pattern Analysis reveals bleak picture for Midrand police

Various Midrand suburbs including Halfway House, Vorna Valley, Waterfall City and Noordwyk are problematic suburbs in the Midrand Police precinct.

The Midrand police’s crime pattern analysis from January 8 to 14 showed Brand and New roads, and Waterfall Drive among the problematic streets in their policing precinct.

The affected suburbs were Halfway House, Vorna Valley, Noordwyk and Waterfall City.
In Halfway House, burglary at business premises mainly occurred between Tuesday and Wednesday around 16:00 and 20:00. In a statement the police said, “Problematic days for theft out of motor vehicles are Wednesdays and Thursdays, and problematic times are 12:00 to 16:00, and 16:00 to 20:00.”

Other crimes included common robbery in Carslwald, Waterfall City and Noordwyk. This happened mostly on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 12:00 to 16:00 and 16:00 to 20:00.

On Thursdays and Fridays, between 12:00 and 16:00, robberies with firearms were a concern for the police in Halfway Gardens, Halfway House and Waterfall City.
“Carjacking is a problem in Kyalami and Waterfall City on Mondays and Wednesdays from around 08:00 to 12:00. Burglary at residences is a challenge between 4:00 to 8:00 and 20:00 on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays in Noordwyk, President Park and Kyalami.”
