Former Indlovu FC winger signs for PSL side after travelling 228km for trials

Former Minehle Ragimana's coach, Thato Legodi says is hard to believe that the talented winger is now his former player.

From Rabie Ridge to Kwa Mhlanga is a 228.4km round trip, a journey that versatile former Indlovu FC player Minenhle ‘Minnie’ Ragiman travelled to attend trials with TS Galaxy.

The talented speedy winger from Rabie Ridge, who can operate both flanks, did not wait long to hear his fate after the trials. He said when he arrived home he received a call informing him that he was selected to be part of Galaxy’s development side.

Minenhle (19) said he was ecstatic and didn’t believe his dream of playing professional football was coming true.

“I attended the TS Galaxy trials in KwaMhlanga at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium in Mpumalanga hoping to get a promotion to the first team and get a chance. Once at the senior level, I am hoping to spend seasons with the team and win trophies.”

He said his former coach Thato Legodi and captain Lukhanyo ‘Ntsimbi’ Mapeyi pushed him to play to his maximum potential. Even after having a bad game, they were both there to support him.

Minenhle joined Indlovu FC in 2020 when he was just a 16-year-old.

“I was playing for a senior team in the regional league. I want to make my family proud and show other youngsters from the township that through hard work, everything is possible. In the next five years or so, I would like to see myself play in Europe, hopefully, playing for Liverpool.”

Coach Legodi said he was very tearful realising that a player who was like a son was no longer with him. “Minnie is a humble, young, and dedicated player. His values and morals carry him to become a better version of himself. “He used to ask me to give him many individual sessions. We would sometimes argue because I would see his potential and feel he could shine a lot. Well I would like to see him on the first team soon as my meeting with Galaxy was fruitful and they described him as the future of the team,” said Legodi.

“I feel Minnie is the special fish inside the pond and to get another Minnie will be difficult. I am sure we will have to search for a new left-footed player who’s as dedicated and talented as he is. It will take me time but I’ll search around Soweto and Midrand. I am sure one or two players will reach that level.”
