Kristin Singh, a determined and talented 17-year-old Grade 11 learner at Curro Sagewood, is heading to Grade 12 next year with her eyes set on success in the international film and fashion industry.

Recently, she received a call-back to next year’s International ARTS Talent Showcase (IATS), where she is vying for a scholarship with the American Musical and Dramatic Academy.

But that is not all, she has also been chosen to walk the London and Milan Fashion Week in February next year, making her one of the youngest models to be selected for this prestigious event.

This incredible opportunity comes after only two meetings with the chairperson and CEO of 33 and Me Talent Agency and producer of IATS Elsubie Louwrens.

Louwrens, who is known for spotting raw talent and taking risks, has put her reputation on the line for an unknown face on an international platform. Her undaunted faith in Kristin is nothing short of admirable.

For most of her schooling life, Kristin attended public school but in the middle of her Grade 10 year, she moved to Curro as she was determined to pursue a career in the arts.

She experienced a sense of trepidation when first transitioning to her current pursuit.

However, she has since blossomed, developing newfound strength and resilience. Her hard work, unwavering dedication, and unwavering support from family and friends have played a significant role in her success.

Kristin Singh is a young model and a learner at Curro Sagewood.

One of her most instrumental supporters has been Curro’s principal Johannes du Toit, who provided her with the guidance, support, and inspiration she needed to pursue her dreams despite the challenges she faced.

Moreover, her parents and siblings have been a constant source of encouragement and motivation, but she is particularly grateful to her mother, Kim Govender, who has been her most unwavering, steadfast supporter throughout her journey.

If Kristin is successful in obtaining this scholarship, she will go on to study in New York and plans to bring South African talent into the limelight.

Although next year promises a lot for Kristin, her journey might be impossible as she faces financial constraints. She is now embarking on a fundraising campaign to help her make her dreams come true.

Her mother is proud of her daughter’s talent and has absolute faith that she will be a resounding success.
