Sector 3 roadblock in Blue Hills

The Midrand Sector 3 Crime Forum patrol commander thanked all the authorities who were involved in the roadblock for following the brief.

In a bid to keep Sector 3 crime-free, its crime forum mounted a roadblock with various stakeholders at the intersection of Plantation and Olifantsfontein roads (R562).
The roadblock happened on January 19 and all the stakeholders involved converged at the Blue Hills Shopping Centre where they were briefed.

Sector 3 patrol coordinator Otto Ramokoka said the roadblock was conducted with various SAPS units, Johannesburg Metro Police Department, Gauteng Traffic Police, Crime Prevention Wardens, Department of Home Affairs, Sector 3 and Sector 4 patrollers and security sevices.

The role players were briefed by Midrand SAPS station commander Brigadier Molefi David Tsotsotso.
“After the briefing, we proceeded to the spot where the roadblock was planned– at the intersection of Plantation Road and R 562 (Olifantsfontein Road). We searched any vehicle, and the occupants as well. Some arrests were made of undocumented people, and citations were also issued on unroadworthy vehicles or unlicenced vehicles,” said Ramokoka.

He said it was a successful operation and all the stakeholders participated according to how they were briefed. “Our biggest appreciation to SAPS units, the JMPD, Gauteng Traffic Police, crime prevention wardens, Aragon Security Group, TRT K9 Unit, Fidelity Security Services, Sector 3 and Sector 4 crime forum patrollers.”
