The IIE’s Varsity College Waterfall is ready to welcome students for Orientation Week

The IIE’s Varsity College Waterfall VCGameDay will kick off O'Week on February 12 and will bring a burst of energy and competitive spirit to the campus.

Orientation Week (O’Week), traditionally aimed at welcoming and integrating first-year students into campus life, promises to be an unforgettable experience for The IIE’s Varsity College Waterfall’s first-year students.

O’Week aims to ensure that all first-time students will receive a kick-start in terms of academic readiness and hopefully foster friendships in a relatable and fun way.

Musa Nkuna, fourth-year Bachelor of Education in intermediate phase teaching and the student volunteer body chairperson, said O’Week is an introduction to tertiary life.

“I met people from different parts of the world and some of them became part of my world. It was the most fun time of my life. O’Week played a significant role in me creating my varsity tribe – people who have had my back throughout my academic journey.”

The college VCGameDay will kick off O’Week on February 12 and will bring a burst of energy and competitive spirit to the campus.

Students will engage in team-building activities and sports which will create opportunities for them to meet new friends and experience the spirit that college is known for.

The next day’s events – Academic Gear Up and The Student Experience – will make sure first-year students are well prepared for their academic year.

Students will be able to interact with their respective programme managers and campus head Avadhi Ghela who will provide valuable insight into and guidance for their chosen fields of study.

February 14 will be a day filled with water-themed activities aimed at having fun and making unforgettable memories with newfound friends.

February 15 will see the college host Student Success 101, a day dedicated to informing students about the various campus resources, extracurricular clubs and student support services available.

O’Week will end off with the O’Week party — an unforgettable celebration with live music by the campus DJs and a few headliners.
