The IIEs Varsity College Waterfall and Sandton students end the year with a bang

The IIEs Varsity College Waterfall and Sandton students get encouraged to end their year on a high note before their 2023 final exams.

Over 350 students celebrated the end of their academic year at the annual year-end party hosted by The IIE’s Varsity College Waterfall and Sandton campuses.

The theme, “Enchant Yourself”, took part at Altitude Beach in Fourways and was aptly chosen to make the night unforgettable.

The event brought the best student DJs from both campuses including TheBoyNelo and Detoxic 015 of the Waterfall campus, and LES-D of the Sandton campus with a star-studded lineup of well-known DJs — DBN Gogo, Mellow & Sleazy, K2K, Jay B, Sean Kross, Zane Gulston, and Leah Jazz.

The IIEs Varsity College Sandton students, Lebogang Pooe, and Itumeleng Monyane dressed as Michael Myers from the Movie ‘Halloween’ and ‘Billy the Puppet’ from the movie ‘SAW’ respectively at The IIE’s Varsity College Sandton and Waterfall campus’ combined year-end function.

The musical journey provided by these DJs kept the crowd on their feet, dancing and celebrating non-stop.

Lebogang Pooe, a second-year Bachelor of Computer and Information Sciences in Application Development student at the Sandton campus, said the year-end party was truly exceptional.

“Seeing all the effort put into the costumes the students rocked up in was so exciting. Being a part of the Social Committee and attending the event was rewarding because we worked very hard to ensure that the students had a great event,” said Pooe.

Sisekelo Mzobe, a Waterfall campus fourth-year Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching student and head of marketing of The Social Committee, said, “Enchant Yourself was my last party at The IIE’s Varsity College Waterfall, and I made some special memories.

“From the moment I arrived at Altitude Beach, I knew I was going to have a great night. The DJs were amazing to watch, dance to, and sing along with. It was great to celebrate the end of my final year with my fellow students from both campuses.”

The year-end party was an excellent opportunity for the students to build on their social and networking skills, which could contribute to their future success.

It encouraged them to make lifelong friends and ended their year on a high note before their 2023 final exams.
