Versatile singer releases gospel gqom single

Talented and versatile singer, songwriter, and producer Ntombizethu Prudence Shange hopes to expand her music internationally.

Local singer, songwriter, and producer Ntombizethu Prudence Shange has released her first festive single, titled Maye [Wow or Amazed].

Shange, affectionately known as Gog’Sangweni, released the festive season hit, which is a mixture of gospel and gqom genres, on October 13.
She said Maye is her way of expressing her admiration and praising God for what He is doing in her life. It’s a song that calls upon the Lord, encourages worship, and expresses appreciation for what God is doing in our lives.

Shange (37) said she is ready to get people dancing and praising God with her music.
“The song is to thank and heap praise on the Almighty for the miracle He has done in my life so far. From the poor background that I come from to where I am today, and where I am hoping to go, God has been my pillar of strength,” said Shange.
She said this release promises to add a vibrant gospel gqom flavour to the festive season and inspire listeners to dance and worship.

Shange worked along DJ Yamza, who she described as a ‘perfect fit’ for the song. It took the duo about two months to complete the single.
The ultimate goal for this talented artist is to create more music, inspire young people, release EPs and albums, and expand her presence in the international music scene.

Ntombizethu Prudence Shange, affectionately known as Gog’Sangweni, is pleased with her newly released single.

Last year, versatile Shange released a 10-track album, titled Umathandazo Wam [My Prayer] and another 10-track, Ngibambe Ngesandla [Hold me by my hand].
She also released three singles, namely Nompumelelo [Mother of success], Africa and I have seen you.

Early this year, Shange released a four-track EP, titled Livvumile Indlozi [Ancestors have answered].
