Night of information for The IIE’s Varsity College Waterfall post-graduates

The IIE’s Varsity College Waterfall host a successful information evening for it post-graduates

Tafadzwa Makombe, the author of Learn Unlearn and Relearn, is a transformational life coach, neuro-linguistic programming practitioner, entrepreneur, and finalist of SAICA Chartered Accountant Top 35 U35 in 2021.

She recently spoke to The IIE’s Varsity College Waterfall prospective post-graduate students about the importance of acquiring knowledge and constantly evolving by challenging preconceived notions.

The topic resonated deeply with the students who attended the college’s interactive Post-Graduate Information Evening.

During the event, attendees, who were wearing ornate masks, explored further study opportunities and how these could align with their career goals.

Programme managers from the campus’ Schools of Humanities, Information Technology, and Management, along with industry experts, Matete Elias Malope, Dr Jan Nell, Leanne Steyn, and Martha Gororo were available during breakaway sessions to offer insight and answer questions.

Makombe, who engaged with the prospective students and answered their questions, said her highlight of the evening was offering advice regarding decisions they were struggling to make.

“Life is no one size fits all, so keeping an open mind is important because your journey is unique and different from the next person. By living a life of continuous learning and growth you will never reach a point of knowing it all. You have to work on yourself daily in order to achieve your goals and life aspirations,” Makombe told the students.

“Having a postgraduate qualification increases employability and earning potential. Not only does it expose you to the latest trends and knowledge in your field of interest and offer you the opportunity to gain the skills necessary for the competitive world of work, but it also contributes to your sense of self-worth.”

The masquerade-themed event celebrated individuality and diversity. Prospective post-graduate students embraced the theme, creating a positive energy at the event.

It exemplified the campus’ commitment to cultivating an inclusive community that values diversity.
