Emergency services warned against stealing

Brigadier Molefi David Tsotsotso gives a stern warning to emergency service personnel who are allegedly taking victims' belongings at crime scenes.

Station Commander of the Midrand Police, Brigadier Molefi David Tsotsotso warns emergency services to refrain from taking victim’s belongings when attending the crime scenes.
This comes after a male suspect was arrested and detained at Midrand cells facing theft charges.

It is alleged that the towing truck employee took the personal belongings of the victim while attending to an accident in which the victim was involved on August 17 on N1’s Olifantsfontein off-ramp.
Tsotsotso said it was alleged that the victim was involved in an accident. A tow truck driver attended to the scene where the victim was unconscious and later taken by ambulance to the hospital.

“His vehicle was towed by a tow truck company which later sent him an invoice. Midrand Detective Warrant Officer Francina Tshwane followed up the case and managed to arrest the male aged 27 found in possession of the victim’s laptop,” said Tsotsotso.
Tsotsotso said emergency services found to be guilty of this, will face the law.
He urged the personnel to refrain from taking personal belongings belonging to the accident victims.
