Fidelity SecureFire steps into critical fire response space

Following a spate of recent fires involving multiple cars on the streets of Midrand, the visibility of the response vehicle will aid in timely responses.

A fire at a private residence or business premises can result in death, burns, smoke inhalation, and other devastating consequences for family members or employees.

If help does not arrive in time the home or business owners may lose everything.

As a result, continuing to collaborate with the community and the government to assist whenever feasible, Fidelity Fire Solution, a part of Fidelity Services Group, pushes into the forefront of fire safety with its unique first responder model, Fidelity SecureFire.

The Fidelity SecureFire first responders’ model consists of 350 vehicles spread across the main suburbs of Pretoria and Johannesburg, including Midrand.

Following a spate of fires involving cars on the streets of Midrand, Fidelity Services Group CEO Wahl Bartmann noted that the visibility of the response vehicle in the area will aid in timely responses as they actively advocate working closely with fire departments.

“I cannot speak on behalf of the fire department as we do not know what the fire department’s response call criteria are. However, as a company, we are constantly working together with the community and the fire department to assist where possible,” said Bartmann.

“Fidelity SecureFire’s first responder vehicles which are part of the Fidelity ADT network, are certified for level one and two firefighting. These responders are equipped with fire-fighting packs called the Roto Pack Lithium Gel and FFG Gel, which provide an advantage with a reach of nine to 12 meters.

“Our second responders enhance our capabilities. If the fire department calls on us to assist, we will certainly do so, as it is in the best interest of our communities. We are always ready to help where we can.”

The service is reinforced by rapid intervention units made up of six-plus fire engines, water tankers, and pumps to supply water.

During the official launch on August 17 at the Fidelity Midrand Campus, head of marketing and communications at Fidelity Service Group, Charnel Hattingh said the move to launch the model was necessary due to the majority of fire stations being crippled by a lack of resources to offer an effective response when residents need it most.

Although they respond to every fire they might come across, the companies’ clients will access the service at a nominal additional fee as they do Fidelity ADT’s other services — by phoning the emergency number (086 121 2401, by pushing the panic button on their alarm panel, pushing a static panic button or by using the secure app.
