Neasm Academy of Sports held an end-of-the-season Awards ceremony

Two years in existence, Neasm Academy of Sports Director pleased with how the team has managed to propel players into professional teams, such as Supersport United.

Neasm Academy of Sports players were in a jovial mood when they converged for the team’s end-of-the-season awards on August 12.

The celebration ceremony comes after the academy’s senior team clinched the 2022/23 season of the Midrand Local Football Association (MLFA).
In attendance at the ceremony held at Prime View Adventures and Leisure in Olifantsfontein, were the academy’s U13, U15, U17, and senior teams. The players were joined by their parents in the glittering ceremony. The academy also unveiled a new jersey they will be wearing in the SAB Regional League in the 2023/24 campaign.

Players received certificates and recognition for their commitment and dedication to the team. U13 captains Karabo Mangoale and Thokozani Ngobeni received Chairman’s Awards.
The technical director of the academy, Manthulane Hezekiel Aphane said the senior players deserved all the credit after playing just two seasons in the MLFA.

Aphane also heaped praise on the co-directors of the team Elias Aphane and Sibusiso Mbuli for sticking to their vision and wished them well for their maiden SAB Regional League appearance.
“We are not only celebrating the promotion of the team to the SAB but the most important aspect of the celebration is the promotion of our players to the professional level. That is what is important. We have about six or seven players joining SuperSport United development structures,” said Aphane.

Former academy striker, Gugulethu Nkosi, who scored 33 goals in 34 games, is one of the players who recently joined SuperSport together with goalkeeper, Mosa Masinya and Tumisho Manamela among others.
