Said opens new shop on their farm in Vorna Valley

Admin and donor manager, Sally Tagg, said, "The aim of the shop is to provide a regular income for the society."

The Society for Animals in Distress (Said) is pleased to have opened a Grand New Barn Charity Shop on their farm in Vorna Valley, Midrand.

The shop was opened on July 29 which saw about 100 animal warriors flock to the farm to purchase various items that were on special. These included quality books, thrift items, and pre-loved goods at the same great prices but in a much bigger and more beautiful space.

Some clothing items that will be sold at the shop on the society’s farm.

Said’s admin and donor manager, Sally Tagg said books were sold at the bargain price of R10 per book.
“The atmosphere was festive and everyone was in a good mood. This was the official opening of the new barn shop – we have moved premises and the books are with the rest of the charity items for sale,” said the ecstatic Tagg.

The shop can be open Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 15:00 and serve as a sustained income for the Society.
“The new shop is much bigger and brighter. It can be divided into sections for the ease of the customers. The aim of the shop is to provide a regular income for the Society. A profit was made on the day. We sold books, clothing electrical items, furniture, children’s toys etc,” she added.

In November last year, Said officially opened The Barn Charity Shop which sold second-hand items such as clothes, books, furniture, kitchen items and electrical items.
Then Tagg said was important to have the shop at the farm to gain awareness in the local community of what they do at Said.
“As an NPO, the shop will assist the organisation to be able to assist more animals in the less fortunate areas that we are presently assisting in Tembisa, Olievenhoutbosch, Diepsloot, and Ivory Park,” concluded Tagg.
