Local car dealer donates 94 blankets
CMH Midrand donates blankets to three local NPOs to keep warm in this cold winter season.
Three Midrand-based NPOs received blankets for their residents to keep warm on these cold winter days from local car dealers.
Tumelo Home for the Mentally Handicapped, New Life Centre for Girls and Cluny Farm Centre were the recipients of the much-needed blankets.
On July 27, Midrand police together with CMH Midrand Multi-Franchise handed over 54 blankets to Cluny Farm and 20 each to Tumelo Home and New Life Centre.
Nico Grobler, dealer principal of CMH Midrand, said they had worked with Midrand police as part of the company’s community involvement to identify the NPOs which needed the blankets.
“We had the opportunity to give back to the community we operate in. Some time ago, our head office in Durban identified that we got a need and duty to fulfil around the country. CMH Midrand was then identified as the central place to distribute about 1 000 blankets between Johannesburg and Pretoria dealers,” said Grobler.
He added this would be an ongoing initiative.
Managing director of Tumelo Home, Solly Khuthama said they appreciated the donation. “This will go a long way towards keeping our residents warm and also ensure that they stay healthy because a lot of them are vulnerable during winter due to their weakened immune systems and other chronic illnesses,” said Khuthama.
Clunfy Farm’s Basani Maremba said, “The commitment of our community, the support and care shown with this awesome donation has touched the hearts of all the residents, management and staff very deeply. The blankets are received with absolute gratitude and will benefit our residents for many winters to come. With the recent cold weather, this surprise has arrived at a good time. Thank you.”
