WATCH: Young talented busker entertains people at the robots

Being stuck in traffic is now fun and joyful.

Kutwalno Yika (25) is a talented singer who identifies himself as a busker who wants to build up his name in the music industry before signing with any record label.

The singer, Kutlwano Yika says his genre choice is what makes him different.

In 2021, Yika approached several shopping centres and malls but they declined his request to busk there due to Covid-19 restrictions.

So, singing at the robots was his last resort but Yika was thankful this happened as he has been travelling all over Johannesburg entertaining people since.
Being stuck in traffic is now fun and joyful for motorists who are entertained by Yika’s music.

One of his favourite spots to sing is at the Carlswald Shopping Centre robots at the busy intersection of New Road and Harry Galaun Drive. Commuters give him money as he belts out a variety of songs that appeal to all age groups. Yuka said he would use this money to further his music career.

“You will surely want to engage with me, jam to my melodies, and sing along because it’s not every day that you get to experience my talent,” bragged Yika.
The singer said performing on the streets would show he had ambition and could make it in the industry.

Yika also uses social media to engage with his fans and build a following. He said platforms such as TikTok and Instagram led him to be invited as a performer at the South African Social Media Awards.

In conclusion, he said his ultimate goal was to have his music as his legacy, keep people happy, and create more memories.
