Local model sets sights on Mrs South Africa crown

Besides supporting youth and community upliftment, this model is also very active with two local foundations.

Terisa Hsu-Lee is a model from Kyalami who can do pretty much anything.

As a semifinalist for Mrs SA 2023, the 39-year-old model emphasised that the pageants are designed to empower married women and its CEO Joani Johnson is proud to work with such strong, inspirational and formidable women.

“The programme teaches leadership, entrepreneurship, marketing, self-promotion, and self-discovery to ensure that all participants have a life-changing experience,” she explained.

To keep in shape Hsu-Lee loves to travel, hike in nature, camp, meditate, dance and work on her personal health and fitness goals, through exercising at the gym, as well as boxing and running.

Aside from her diploma in fashion and photographic makeup, she also holds diplomas in brand contact management and exercise science from Bond University of Australia and Vega School to name a few.

“I have grown up in the beautiful country of South Africa since the tender age of 3 years old and SA is the place that I call my home. Despite my Asian appearance, I have naturally been able to comfortably integrate and connect with people, genders, races and cultures from all walks of life.”

In 2018 she created her own exclusive range of affordable, quality and professional South African makeup — Ever Beauty SA exclusively manufactured to accommodate the diverse needs and skin tones of the SA market.

She also has a range of locally manufactured perfumes called Ubuntu, Amandla and I’m Beautiful.

In 2021, together with her sister, Angela Hsu, they launched their first flagship store, Ever Beauty SA Emporium in Fourways, Pineslopes Shopping Centre.

“It was a true blessing as we were aware that many businesses were closing down due to the effects of the coronavirus,” she added.

“We started off as an online beauty brand www.everbeauty.co.za which was a rebirth of my family business legacy that my parents established in 2003.”

Besides supporting youth and community upliftment, Hsu-Lee is also very active with two local foundations, Impilo Collection Foundation and Jessica Matheson Foundation.

“I am an enthusiast of art, fashion and I enjoy attending and building workshops, community development, collaborating and working on social media influencer brand projects.”

Currently, she is studying online at Trifocus Fitness Academy as she plans to become a certified life coach by June this year.
