Talking about her role at school she said occupying any position in a school is not easy as it comes with a lot of responsibilities.
“But there are four most important aspects I have learned so far; being a good leader you must willing to listen, create a good communication channel with all your peers and teachers, thirdly, you are not entitled to respect because of your position but you earn it by how you treat others,” said Phoswa.
“Lastly is that you will not be liked by everyone which is totally acceptable as long as you do your job by taking care of the school and learners.”

Goal-shooter Busisiwe Phoswa believes netball has improved her various skills.

She says she has gained quite a lot from this position of leadership including being genuine, transparent and consistent about her principles and values.
“My dream profession is to become a chartered accountant and work in big accounting firms. So, in the next five yours I would have already obtained my degree and furthered my studies until I write my broad exam and become a CA.”

Besides being head prefect, she’s also a netball player who enjoys curating content on various social media platforms including TikTok and YouTube.
“I started playing netball in primary and I grew with it. I just enjoy being on the court and playing with a group of energetic girls who also enjoy the sport. However, netball has helped me develop a good teamwork ethic, flexibility and stamina. It has also taught me problem-solving and decision-making skills,” concluded Phoswa.

Busisiwe Phoswa ecstatic to be occupying the head prefect post for Glen Austin High School.
