Sector 1 Crime Forum gets a new sector manager

New Sector 1 Crime Forum sector manager believes crime prevention is not the sole mandate of police only, but the whole community need to play their part.

Warrant Officer Khomotso Mokhwelepa has been announced as the new Sector 1 Crime Forum manager.

Mokhwelepa takes over from Sergeant Richard Mapara who has been with the sector for about 10 years.
The sector manager’s duties are to profile the sector they are servicing, acquire the right resources to combat crime, and engage the community.
Mokhwelepa’s appointment was announced on March 11 by Sector 1 chairperson Jonathan ‘Jo’ Burrows at Midrand Chapel in Glen Austin.

The meeting was attended by Lieutenant-Colonel Mmakgomo Semono on behalf of the Station Commander Brigadier Molefi David Tsotsotso, Ward 92 councillor Charmaine Ngoepe, and Ward 110’s Angelina Mphaho.

Sector 1 encompasses the area between Randjesfontein Estate to the north, Allandale Road to the south, N1 to the west up to Boshoff Road, and President Park to the east.

Mokhwelepa said he was pleased to join the sector and he was going to work with the chairperson and his committee to ensure that they fought crime in the sector.
He said crime prevention was not the sole mandate of the police only but the whole community as it directly affected them.

“I believe if we all work together – residents, patrollers, and the CPF executive – then we stand a good chance to win this battle against crime. We need to show these criminals that we mean business and their running of the streets will soon come to an end,” said Mokhwelepa.

Semono wished Mokhwelepa well in his new role, saying the station would always be available to provide the necessary resources he might need to execute his job.
