Midrand police welcome Vispol commander and operational commander

Newly appointed top cops from Midrand Police Station are raring to hit the ground running in their respective positions to curb ever-increasing crime.

The newly appointed Vispol commander at Midrand Police Station, Colonel Gonafeelan Micah Govender said he’d work closely with all community stakeholders including Crime Policing Forums to fight lawlessness.

Midrand Police Station Commander Brigadier Molefi David Tsotsotso welcomed Govender to his new role.
Govender will be responsible for the operational efficacy of his Vispol members, ensuring that the community gets the services they deserve while increasing police visibility in the Midrand policing precinct.

“My doors are open to anyone who is willing to work with the station to fight against crime in and around Midrand. I invite all the community stakeholders to come forward to ensure that we build a strong unity against crime around Midrand,” said Govender.

Tsotsotso, through acting station spokesperson Sergeant Angelina Selowa, said Govender had replaced Colonel David Mahloromela.

“In addition, we have the newly appointed and promoted Lieutenant Colonel Alfred Kodisang as an operational commander. He will be working with Lieutenant Colonel Nhlanhla Sibisi in that department as an additional operation commander,” said Tsotsotso.

Lieutenant Colonel Nhlanhla Sibisi is appointed the operational commander at Midrand Police Station.

“The operational commander and Vispol commander will be working hand in hand to oversee the visible policing to address crime and other related matters. As the station commander, I will be giving all the support and resources to ensure the smooth running of service delivery and preventing crime in the area.”
