Makitla believes that pet ownership comes with great responsibility and that animals need to receive the correct food and nutrition.

Midrand SPCA writes:

Hendrik Makitla is a well-known face at the Midrand SPCA.

Makitla is a clinic orderly, and he assists the SPCA veterinarian by preparing animals for surgery, ensuring all the animals have undergone their health checks and are fit for surgery.

He prepares and ensures that all the equipment is sterilised and ready for use and monitors the animals in the theatre and during recovery.

Makitla is passionate about education and loves teaching people how to care for their pets.

He is a gentleman with lots of patience and a lovely sense of humour, but he is not shy to tell people how to best care for their animals (on a very serious note) when he sees cases where animals are not receiving the best care possible.

Makitla firmly believes that pet ownership comes with great responsibility and that animals need to receive the correct food and nutrition and he advocates vaccination to prevent animals from falling ill. This is one passionate man when it comes to animals.

Makitla is also a retired animal welfare assistant and through his many years in animal welfare he has also seen his fair share of the good and the bad, but he continues to be a voice for the voiceless.

Thank you Makitla for your years and years of dedication and passion toward animals.
