School principal Sharira Padayachy said the former learners have done the school proud and hopes the money will give them a start toward furthering their education. “As the school, we are proud of you [learners] because some are going to higher institutions of learning to seek a better future for yourselves. Just a reminder, remember that wherever you go, you represent the school. As educators, we are happy and hope that you will do well for yourselves,” said Padayachy.

Senior phase head of the department at Midland Primary and High School Nokuthula Mbedzi thanked the parents who were there. “I am proud of you guys, and to the parents, thank you so much for everything that you have done for your kids. As much we can say we have done our part as teachers, but most of the support you gave them has brought them where we are today.”
