Eduvos Midrand Debate Union has partnered with Royalty Pact Debate Academy for the first in-person African Inter-Varsity Championship to be held later this year.
The Debate Union has been gathering a team with registration open for speakers who want to participate in the tournament and Mace-Pieterson Maphosa is the union’s tournament advisor.

Apart from turning everything he touches into purely refined gold, Mace is an outstanding debater who prides himself on very enviable achievements in almost all fields of debating including speaking, judging, coaching, tabbing, and even tournament organisation among others.
You cannot retrospectively discuss 2021 as an African debater without Mace. After successfully bossing the Zimbabwe Easter’s 2021 tab, breaking perfectly and
winning the tournament, he went on to win the most sought-after open tournament on the continent – Jozi Rumble 2021.
His debate highlight was reaching the grand finale of Korea Pre-WUDC at the Royal Rhetorics Anniversary Cup 2021.
He started 2022 by serving as chief adjudicator at MJF-JUDO Eminence International IV 2022, McMaster High Schools 2022, and USC IV 2022 among others.
