Songwriter, trapper, and recording artist Sizwe Andrew Thabethe promises his fans his first-ever album before the end of this year.
Thabethe (30), known as Kraizie, has been in the entertainment industry from the tender age of eight.
Thabethe, who is a traditional healer also known as ‘Isangoma somculo’ on social media, has been with the Waterfall-based record label, Ambitiouz Entertainment since 2015.
“I have been in the studio working on an album that will be authentic and resonate with my supporters. All I can say for now is that an album is definitely in the pipeline, and once it’s ready, people will enjoy it and it will be worth the wait,” said Thabethe.
In August 2022, Thabethe released his latest single titled Thumela [Send], where he features his friends, S’Villa and Snymaan. The song is about people who work hard in big cities to send money back home.
His debut single was Pebep [hooting sounds], followed by Phumuza Maphiko [rest your wings], Thilili [ringing phone] and Umbuso [kingdom] in 2021. He said he also works a traditional healer and explains how he balances the two. “I book clients in because I am a big traditional healer and if I have studio appointments, then I don’t make bookings. Sometimes, I work from about 08:00–17:00, then afterward, I go into the studio to see what I can do.”
Thabethe has also made a few cameos roles for shows such as uGugu no Andile, The Queen and YoTV.
He said despite making those cameos, his love remains the music industry although he enjoys the entertainment industry as a whole.
