Curro Waterfall 2023 prefects share their plans for the year ahead

It is a girl affair. Curro Waterfall 2023 executive committee prefects eager to hit the ground running.

Two Grade 11 learners from Curro Waterfall, who have recently been selected as the school’s 2023 prefect executive, share their plans for the year ahead.

Boipelo Tshabalala (17) and Dhiasha Naidoo (17) will both form part of the prefect executive committee and have vowed to work hard and lead by example to their peers.

Dhiasha said it feels unreal, and she was still reeling with shock. She said she was grateful for the opportunity, and can’t wait to work with their team to make an impact on their fellow learners’ high school experience.

“I promise to always put the learner’s needs first, to ensure that everyone is heard. To be someone that they can look up to, to motivate and uplift them to reach their full potentials. I promise to use this new title to bring excitement, joy, support, and comfort to all the students of my Curro Waterfall family,” said Dhiasha.

Boipelo said being elected as one of the two head prefects feels incredibly surreal for her. She said she was excited for the coming year and the opportunity to work alongside everyone to make an impact or to simply be an ear or ‘servant’ to Curro Waterfalls High School.

“I would like to promise my peers that I aim to be a vessel, be that a voice, an ear, hands or whatever is required of me and to do it to the best of my abilities. I understand the amount of trust placed in the executive body of prefects and I know that we all do not take it for granted,” said Boipelo.

She concluded that this was a huge opportunity to be exemplary in how they conduct themselves, effective usage of communication between staff and learners.
