Midrand Learner Transport thanks parents for the 2022 school year

MLTA's vice chairperson thanks all members for working as a family and being there for one another during the good and bad times.

Midrand Learner Transport Association’s (MLTA) local branch held its year-end function to celebrate its successful 2022 school calendar.

The association’s members held their celebrations at the Graceland Water Park in President Park on November 26.

General secretary Magrieta Moshidi Makhafola said their highlights of the year were being able to buy two patrol cars for the association and appointing two patrollers to assist with illegal transporters. “I would like to thank the parents for their cooperation during the year and for entrusting us with their children. We worked well together during all the good and the bad times we came across, and we still managed to overcome them. We wish them [parents and children] a

Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. May they travel safely during the holidays as they go to different destinations,” said Makhafola.
She added their ‘lowlights’ were the deaths of some of their members due to alleged ‘hits’ or accidents.

She said they were looking forward to their members buying bigger vehicles to accommodate the ever-increasing need for scholar transport.

The association’s vice chairperson Thabo Seletisha said, “We achieved a lot with regards to having new members joining our association. Our members are responding well to having a burial executive. Burial executives are when the leadership chooses members to collect ‘condolence money’ if we lose a member or partner, and we give the family money.”

He thanked executive members and all members in general for working as a family and being there for one another during the good and bad times. “May we continue supporting each other and may we grow to higher levels in this business. And we will like to thank our chairman Jerry Matsho for always giving us opportunities to be us and run this association together.”
