Midrand’s Connect To Feed closes year on a high note

Connect To Feed co-founder Swati Bhagat has described the recently held #ChristmasDrive as very successful.

Christmas came early for about 300 children from Ivory Park, Rabie Ridge and the surrounding townships when Midrand-based NPO Connect To Feed distributed various gifts to the deserving children.

Swati Bhagat, Connect To Feed’s co-founder, described the recently held drive as ‘very successful’ after giving Christmas gifts and food to the young children.

The #ChristmasDrive, which was held in conjunction with Curro Midrand and Food For Life, took place on December 4 in Ivory Park.
Food For Life provided about 15 000 plates of food per day nationally in a bid to eradicate hunger and malnutrition.

Bhagat said the three organisations had the pleasure of sharing food and toys with underprivileged children. “So, we were happy and grateful that we could bring smiles into their life. “We would definitely like to thank them for all their assistance and teamwork. The whole initiative was a team effort, so everyone played a major role in making it successful. This year has been good, we were able to do drives every month throughout the year,” said Bhagat.

She said in 2023, they will be more prepared, more dedicated, and more giving as they have a bigger goal in the works and want to ensure that they better each drive. Bhagat added that they would need a bigger team so they would request more volunteers to come forward and assist financially, physically, or both to make every event successful.

Bhagat said they will be taking a short recess for this year (2022) and next year they were planning on pampering lucky orphanage children, by taking them out to lunch.

“A day out for some fun and engagements which is a work in progress. A big thank you to all who have been a part of this journey. Connect to Feed completed its two years last month which wouldn’t have been possible without the entire team’s dedication and hard work,” she concluded.
