Noordwyk Primary learners enjoy fun day at the school
Three Grade 7 learners describes the fun day as an amazing experience, accompanied by good music.
Noordwyk’s Primary School was packed to capacity as parents came to support their children during the school’s fun day event on November 17.
On a hot summer’s day, the learners ran around the grounds from one activity to the other – mechanical bull, rocket parachute, shooting tunnel, merry-go-round swings and giant slide among others.
Acting school principal Clayton Paul said the event was aimed at raising funds for the school.
He said the learners enjoyed the time to relax before the start of their exams on November 21.
“We are happy to include this in our academic calendar for the kids to enjoy themselves. I think our learners have really worked hard throughout the year and hopefully, they will be refreshed for their exams. I hope we have raised enough funds for the functioning of the school next year,” said Paul.
He added that the progressive process of teaching and learning included fun for the learners and praised the event organisers for their sterling work to put the event together.
“We also wanted to market the school to the larger area of Midrand by assuring parents that there is a school that will provide quality education and extramural activities, not just for those in Noordwyk, but to the greater Midrand area.”
Paul thanked the parents for their support and their children for making the fun day a success.
Grade 7 learners Precious Rakubu, Sisipho Dlasa and Nandie Gumede agreed that it was nice to relax a bit ahead of their exams.
