Living in the gamers paradise

The time for gamers and cosplayers to finally unit under one roof was announced at the Roof in Bryanston on August 31 by the representatives of Comic Con.

As most individuals regard the month of September as spring, the majority of gamers and artists in South Africa refer to it as the month of Comic Con Africa.

During the official media launch of the highly anticipated event at the Roof in Bryanston on August 31, members of the media and fans listened with excitement as the officials of Comic Con announced their plans for this year’s biggest pop culture and gaming festival.

The event which will take place at the Johannesburg Expo Centre (Nasrec) from September 22 to 25 will offer participants an experience of a lifetime where fantasies become a reality. With the support of KFC, Telkom vs Gaming and Luno, Comic Con participants will get to join in or witness amazing competitions on multiple stages such as the cosplay competition in which the winner gets the chance to compete at the MCM London Comic Con next month.

What is Comic Con Africa without the presence of gaming gears and competitions? The event will feature an abundance of gaming tournaments such as the Dorito’s Crunch Cup which will offer gaming fanatics of Fortnite, Street Fighter, Tekken and Fifa a platform to showcase their talents.

An abundance of fun gaming competitions will be offered to fans of all ages at the 2022 Comic Con.

Not to mention the graffiti and sketch battles of both local and international artists that will be exhibited at the StreetCon section during the Con weekend.

Four well-known international actors who will be spending their time with participants in this year’s edition of the event were also announced during the media launch.

Tati Gabrielle from The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Power Rangers Turbo actor Selwyn Ward, Ross Butler from Shazaam and the infamous Vecna (played by Jamie Campbell Bower) from the Netflix show Stranger Things will meet up with a few lucky fans at this year’s Comic Con.
