Midrand primary hosts first Family Fun Day post Covid-19

Event organiser Fiso Sikhosana, who worked with his colleague, Stokes Thobakgale to plan for the day, said they want to see more young learners from Midrand start their schooling journey at Midrand Primary School.

Midrand Primary School sports field was a hive of activity as parents came to support their children during the school’s Family Fun Day event on September 10.

On the hot spring day, children played various games including five-a-side soccer and volleyball and on jumping castles.
The primary school learners held hands with their peers as they moved from one game to the other while parents watched from the grandstands.

The day was last held in 2019 before the Covid-19 outbreak.

Event organiser Fiso Sikhosana said he had worked hard with his colleague Stokes Thobakgale to ensure that the day was a success.

“The intention was to get the kids to come and have a good time with their families. Secondly, we wanted to market the school to the larger area of Midrand by assuring parents that there is a school that will provide quality education and extramural activities, not just for those in Noordwyk, but to the greater Midrand area,” said Sikhosana.

Sikhosana concluded that the turnout was good compared to 2019 and thanked parents, teachers and learners for gracing the event.
