Curro learners celebrate King Misuzulu ka Zwelithini’s coronation with traditional Zulu attire

Curro Midrand Sagewood learners and teachers wore traditional Zulu attire in celebration of King Misuzulu kaZwelithini’s recent coronation.

Although the monarch has no political power, the king is an extremely influential figure in South African society.

As a school with isiZulu offered as a second language, Curro prides itself on a strong connection with the Zulu community.

Following the traditional ceremony on August 20, Curro learners dressed up and celebrated on August 30, which marked the 10th day of the king.

Curro’s marketing manager Kayla Wolmarans said, “Our high school prides itself on excellent academic success in IEB distinctions in isiZulu and it was a pleasure to celebrate this day with our learners by allowing them an opportunity to clad their attire and display their heritage with pride.”
