Vhutshilo said upholding the name of the school and building unity among learners were their daily duties.

“We also have to lead the school governing body in a better way such as the management, functioning and running of the school which will ultimately benefit the learners,” said Vhutshilo.

He said it was important to also allow learners to have their voice by providing them with an opportunity to take part in important decision-making regarding the school.

Zoe said as the leaders they also guarded against the oppression of learners’ views, beliefs and values by ensuring that all learners could freely express themselves.

“We keep learners informed about all events and activities happening in the school so that they can also have their input and attend. In office, we preside over different meetings and uphold the constitution by carrying out all the board’s office obligations and duties,” said Zoe.

One of these events was a career expo day to help learners make the right career choices post-matric.

Various higher education institutions and business professionals were invited to address all learners.
