Residents enjoy a braai and rugby at Castle Kyalami
The event was a successful one and the guests enjoyed having a relaxing day at an actual Castle.
The spokesperson for Castle Kyalami, Sandile Hlayisi said the venue was a meeting place for the community to get to know each other and the many diverse cultures that exist in the area.
Local community members converged at the venue to watch the clash match between the Springboks and All Blacks on August 6.
Before the game, a braai was held to provide a chance for community members to gather and socialise. There were also jumping castles for the children among other exciting activities.
“Apart from being the Church of Scientology, Castle Kyalami is also a community centre and home to the community. The braai is held so the community can stay connected with each other and share knowledge for the improvement and betterment of all,” said Hlayisi.
The event was a successful one and participants celebrated intensely after the Springboks outclassed the All Blacks to win 26–10.
Hlayisi said such events kept the community together, so a monthly braai was held. “Everyone is totally welcome, and the Castle is always more than happy to accommodate everyone.”
The Castle also holds various community events ranging from skills development to life empowerment seminars and anyone was welcome to attend.
Dineo Senoamadi, president of Castle Kyalami concluded,” The community braai is always appreciated… the Castle is a home for the community so it is always open for anyone from all walks of life.”
